Last nights dinner- more tacos!
I made the guac earlier, but the rest came later. Buffalo meat tacos! I used another Rick Bayless sauce, Taco Skillet w/ mild red chile and cumin. I topped with sautéed onions and made some quesadillas on the side. Good meal.

Greetings! from The Lucky Monk
This past Friday I went to The Lucky Monk.
105 Hollywood Boulevard South Barrington, IL 60010
(847) 898-0500
I made plans with a friend, Mark to meet for lunch at The Lucky Monk. They have proven bar favorites, and some non-traditional items. The most interesting items to me were the pizza and the burgers. Though I have to say some of the appetizers look very tasty. We decided to get two meals and split them. We went with the pulled pork, ordered with the loaded fries...
and a closer look at the fries...
The fries were awesome, reminiscent of Paradise Pup's Three Layer Fries. The pulled pork was just okay. The pork was tender, but the sandwich lacked a proper amount of sauce. Guess I could have asked for extra sauce, but for some reason, we didn't. We also tried the Grilled Cheese Burger.
My half of the burger...
We absolutely had to get this. I mean, come on, it's a burger with two bacon filled grilled cheese sandwiches for the buns. This burger was great.
The staff was nice and it's a very clean place. We both had children with us and it is kid-friendly. I feel the prices are a bit on the higher end, but the portions were filling. At some point I'll return to The Lucky Monk to sample more of their options.
Take 'er easy...

Turkey Roulade Sandwiches on Pretzel Bread
This week I made Turkey Roulade Sandwiches on Pretzel Bread.
Dana bought some turkey roulade w/ sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and fontina cheese. I used muenster cheese and pretzel bread to complete the sandwich.

She also bought some broccoli rapini, so I made some pasta to go with it.
This was very easy, and quick to prepare. Turned out to be a good meal!
