More of The Triple Threat!

Just as good, if not better than the last time I made them!

Bacon, caramel, and semi-sweet chocolate chips all in a cookie!!!

Greetings! from Kuma's Corner

On Friday night I went to Kuma's Corner with some friends. This was not my first visit and it definitely won't be my last.   This visit was special because they were hosting a benefit for a friend, Sam Thompson
Kuma's is located at 2900 W. Belmont Ave. Chicago, IL. 60618
(773) 604-8769

If you haven't been here, go! Right now. They have some of the best burgers you'll ever taste.  All burgers are served on a pretzel roll, and you can substitute a chicken breast, garden burger, or chicken tenders in lieu of the burger patty.  In addition to great burgers, they offer sliders, appetizers, pulled pork, a great beer selection, and make your own mac & cheese.  Oh, and they play metal, and it's loud (that's a good thing).

We started off with the Fried Jalapeno Poppers, stuffed with cream cheese and chorizo served with a jalapeno raspberry jam.  Sorry for no picture on this one, my photography skills were not working at that moment in time.  The poppers were tasty and I wanted to drink the jalapeno raspberry jam.

For my meal I chose to make my own mac & cheese....

w/ bacon & peas.

And the burger choice was the Led Zeppelin....

It has pulled pork, bacon, cheddar, and pickles! And the fries are great as well.

Any chance I get I will always return for more metal and the best burgers ever!  Be advised Kuma's is a very popular place, be prepared to wait for a table, or try to find a spot at the bar because you can eat there too.  This place is so awesome I probably don't give it proper justice, so go find out for yourself.

Greetings! from The Hubbard Avenue Diner

Over the weekend we took a trip to visit some friends in the Madison area.  On Saturday, we went to the Hubbard Avenue Diner located at 7445 Hubbard Avenue Middleton, WI. 53562.  They offer a wide variety of food, and they're "famous for pie".  It's a very friendly and clean place with super quick service.  I went with an oreo shake...

and the meatloaf

Both choices were top notch!  The shake was thick and the meatloaf tasted like homemade.  On my next visit I won't stuff myself, I will leave room for pie.  If you're ever in the area you should try it too.

Mother's Day Breakfast

Got up early and made breakfast. Scrambled eggs with onions and provolone cheese (no onions in the kids eggs). With bacon, wheat toast, and fruit (apples, blueberries, and strawberries). A special treat for a great mom.

Greetings! from Meatheads

Last night I went to Meatheads Burgers & Fries. They have seven locations, all in Illinois.  I went to the one at 601 North Martingale Road Schaumburg, IL. 60173.  They offer a selection of "chef inspired" burgers, a build your own burger with many topping options, and you can get a chicken breast if that's how you roll.  Other options include hot dogs, grilled cheese and bacon, egg cheese sandwiches, blt's, and alt's (avocado, lettuce, and tomato).  The fries are fresh-cut and come original or cajun, and you can choose a signature sauce to go alongside.  I got the original, my pal Shane got the cajun. Both options were tasty.  On top of all that they have shakes!  My pal Mark tried an Oreo shake.  It was delicious.

I built my own 1/3 lb. meathead with cheddar, ketchup, mustard, mayo, grilled onions, and applewood smoked bacon.  And original fresh-cut fries w/ bacon ranch sauce.  The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the fries were well, perfect.  I will definitely return to Meatheads!

Strawberry Banana Pancakes

Dana made whole wheat pancakes with bananas this morning. I put strawberries, butter, & syrup on top.

Buffalo Burgers

I made burgers with ground buffalo.  The patties also had crushed Cheddar Potato Popchips and grilled onions inside.

The grilled onions before they went in the burgers....

And the burgers...

With ketchup, mayo, Woeber's Hot & Spicy Mustard, and cheddar cheese.
There are also homemade potato chips to the left. For the chips I used a Yukon Gold potato and fried them in toasted sesame oil(the only oil we had). I like em' dark(burnt) and crispy.  Not really sure why I used the chips we had in the burgers and made my own, but there are larger mysteries to solve than that.
It's been awhile since I've made burgers.  I was very happy with the result. Juicy and flavorful!
I will definitely make burgers again very soon.

And more of The Triple Threat...

More Pizza, But This Time Shane Helped!

After Shane got up from her nap today she helped me make pizza, and I took videos along the way! Dana had bought some of the faves: pizza dough from Whole Foods Market and Muir Glen sauce. But this time I used Supremo Queso Chihuahua and some sliced cheddar.

Shane assisted in rolling the dough...

The start of the sauce...

And spreading the sauce...

What comes next?

More chihuahua cheese...

And finally the cheddar...

It came out great!!

I had so much fun making pizza with Shane, she did a really great job!
